WHAT IS SCIENCE BOWL?
The National Science Bowl is a nationwide academic competition ran by the Department of Energy that tests all students' knowledge in all areas of science including Life Science, Physical Science, Earth and Space Science, Energy, Mathematics, and General Science. The competition format resembles that of Jeopardy! or Family Feud where each school competing has a team of five students. Two teams compete against each other by trying to buzz in the correct answer to a scientific question asked by the moderator before the other team and before their time runs out.

What is Done during science bowl Meetings?
In the Science Bowl Meetings, students prepare for the competition by getting taught extra scientific knowledge by older students (or the coach), having time to learn themselves, holding practice matches, and reviewing the structure of the rules and questions of the competition. In order to join the Science Bowl, an entrance exam must be taken that covers many different scientific topics. The exam does not determine if the student gets into the Science Bowl homeroom, but is just used to evaluate the student's prior knowledge.
